A joint research and production project between the ‘Nauka’ Research and Development Centre at WUNU and LIFE BIOCHEM
The ‘Nauka’ R&D Production Farm of West Ukrainian National University, in collaboration with LIFE BIOCHEM, with the participation of academic and teaching staff from the Department of Ecology and Public Health and the Department of Agrobiotechnology of WUNU, are implementing a comprehensive research and production project aimed at investigating the effectiveness of modern biological technologies in soil fertility management systems.
WUNU is launching a partnership with KPMG Germany
A working meeting was held at West Ukrainian National University between Nicolai Kiskalt — a partner at KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (Germany), Head of the Central and Eastern Europe Desk (CEE) and responsible for KPMG Ukraine Gateway’s Private Sector Practice across Europe, the Middle East and Africa – and Marina Antonova, a project assistant, with the Rector of West Ukrainian National University, Oksana Desyatnyuk.

Participation in the ‘Science and Sail’ international summer school
Between 2 and 9 August 2026, Viktor Bryn, a graduate student pursuing a Master’s degree in Ecology and Bioeconomics at WUNU, took part in the international summer school ‘Science and Sail’, which brought together over 40 young researchers from Germany, Finland, Slovakia, Poland, Ukraine and the Baltic region.
A Swedish delegation from the town of Ronneby visited WUNU
West Ukrainian National University hosted the signing of an agreement between WUNU, represented by the rector Oksana Desyatnyuk, and the city of Ronneby (Kingdom of Sweden), represented by Mikael Mortenson, chair of the committee for technology, recreation and culture. The city of Ronneby has been a partner city of Ternopil for many years, carrying out joint projects with Ternopil City Council.
Ukraine's universities will harness their potential to contribute to community development
On 11 August, a meeting took place between the team from the Office of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities under the President of Ukraine and 24 rectors of Ukrainian universities. Oksana Desyatnyuk, Rector of West Ukrainian National University, took part in a discussion on developing a new model of partnership between higher education institutions and local communities in Ukraine.
WUNU researchers took part in an academic mobility programme
As part of the European Erasmus+ programme, representatives from West Ukrainian National University paid a working visit to FH JOANNEUM University of Applied Sciences in Graz (Austria). The partner university brought together 40 lecturers specialising in German studies and 44 students from 14 different higher education institutions in Ukraine for an exchange of experience and intensive training.

The joint project ‘The Europeanisation of Ukrainian Law: A Comparative Law Platform for Training Young Researchers’, which received funding from the DAAD under the Leonhard Euler Programm, represents a significant achievement resulting from the long-standing academic partnership between WUNU and the Osnabrück University.
