WUNU is launching a partnership with KPMG Germany
A working meeting was held at West Ukrainian National University between Nicolai Kiskalt — a partner at KPMG AG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (Germany), Head of the Central and Eastern Europe Desk (CEE) and responsible for KPMG Ukraine Gateway’s Private Sector Practice across Europe, the Middle East and Africa – and Marina Antonova, a project assistant, with the Rector of West Ukrainian National University, Oksana Desyatnyuk.
Mr Kiskalt has over 20 years’ experience in strategic and business consultancy, and has been working in the Ukrainian market since 2018.
At KPMG, Nicolai Kiskalt specialises, in particular, in strategic management, business transformation, investment projects, the entry of international companies into the Ukrainian market and the development of business initiatives in Ukraine.
He is an expert with years of knowledge of the Ukrainian market and experience in coordinating investment projects and business initiatives with local partners. Of particular interest is his comprehensive study of Ukraine’s business ecosystem, developed by Kyiv Consulting with the aim of strengthening Ukraine’s positioning in the global information space and presenting its economic potential to an international audience.
During the discussion, the rector shared her vision for collaboration, noting:
“WUNU serves as a platform for projects aimed at the development of the city and the region. It is therefore very important today to explore new avenues of collaboration: involving KPMG experts in the educational process, and creating a joint expert platform centred on KYIV RYSING. WUNU could become a forum for discussions on how the New Age Ukraine concept can be implemented at a regional level. Specific research by WUNU academics could focus on regional recovery, European integration, investment, human capital, digital transformation, sustainable development, energy transition, and the role of universities in post-war reconstruction.”
For his part, Mr Kiskalt focused on the role of universities and young people in Ukraine’s transformation process and expressed the view that Ukrainian universities have their own distinctive character and uniqueness, and that it is very good that they do not try to copy European and global universities. This is where their strength and appeal lie.
The meeting marked an important step towards establishing a direct dialogue between West Ukrainian National University and KPMG Germany, and opens up prospects for further cooperation, the exchange of expertise and the implementation of joint initiatives.
