Education and Research Institute of Public Administration

     The staff of Education and Research Institute of Public Administration of WUNU provides professional training, which includes advanced training and retraining of civil servants and local government officials in the specialty 281 "Public Administration and Management" in the field of knowledge 28 "Public Administration and Management" in the following educational program:

  - Public Service.


 Training is carried out by the state order of the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service and at the expense of individuals and legal entities in accordance with the concluded agreement (contract) and the rules of admission to West Ukrainian National University.

Admission to extramural studies by state order is open to civil servants whose positions belong to subcategory B3 of category "B" and category "C", as well as local government officials whose positions are classified in the fifth-seventh category of positions in local governments. Additionally, the applicants must have obtained a Master's, a Bachelor's or a Specialist's degree, must work in public authorities bodies or local governments, and have experience of civil service or service in local government of at least one year at the time of submission of documents to the Admissions Board (CMU resolution No.789 of July 29, 2009 with addendums).


 After graduating Education and Research Institute of Public Administration, graduates wield a comprehensive knowledge base, which helps them to combine three qualities - competence, professionalism and leadership - into a single whole. Given the form of study and the availability of a job, graduates have the opportunity to use the acquired knowledge for further career growth and competing for senior positions in government. Graduates of the Institute are able to independently analyze, formulate and implement public policy, effectively execute management functions, provide quality services, promote innovations using the tools of modern governance and public management.


 Education and Research Institute of Public Administration actively cooperates with the following institutions and organizations: regional and district administrations, territorial executive bodies, regional and district councils, city, settlement and village communities of Ternopil, Lviv, Volyn, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, Khmelnytskyi, Vinnytsia regions and Kyiv.

In April 2019, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between WUNU and the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service in order to continue cooperation in the field of professional training of civil servants and local government officials.

In the same year, a new Agreement on Cooperation was concluded between Ternopil Regional Administration, Ternopil Regional Council and WUNU, which focused on professional training.


 Education and Research Institute of Public Administration implements international cooperation with foreign partners: Wrocław University of Economics (Poland), Małopolska School of Public Administration of the Cracow University of Economics (Poland), School of Economics and Management of Public Administration in Bratislava (Slovakia).

 

 The Institute carries out annual professional development of civil servants and local government officials in general professional (certificate) programs and general short-term programs at the expense of the National Agency of Ukraine for Civil Service.
