WUNU team wins the Jean Monnet Chaird competition with the EUROCLIMATE project
A team of academics from West Ukrainian National University has won the Jean Monnet Chairs competition under the Erasmus+ programme.
The Jean Monnet Chair of the EU Climate Action (EUROCLIMATE) project aims to promote interdisciplinary research and the transfer of knowledge in the field of European studies relating to the environment and the fight against climate change, to train specialists with a cross-sectoral approach to climate issues, to foster societal resilience, and to bring together researchers, entrepreneurs and local authorities to drive the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
Applying an interdisciplinary approach (economics, law, ecology, digital technologies and infrastructure) to the study and transfer of knowledge will help to develop a systematic understanding of European research in the fields of the environment and the fight against climate change. The project’s sustainability lies in the synergy between educational, scientific, municipal and industrial cooperation for the climate-neutral transformation of Ukraine’s post-war economy, based on the EU’s values regarding the fight against climate change.
We congratulate WUNU scientists and wish them every success with the project and further achievements on the path to a European future!
