West Ukrainian National University hosted the signing of an agreement between WUNU, represented by the rector Oksana Desyatnyuk, and the city of Ronneby (Kingdom of Sweden), represented by Mikael Mortenson, chair of the committee for technology, recreation and culture. The city of Ronneby has been a partner city of Ternopil for many years, carrying out joint projects with Ternopil City Council.

During the meeting, the colleagues discussed a number of issues: development of educational and academic cooperation; implementation of joint international and grant-funded projects; further cooperation in the fields of culture and youth initiatives; organisation of exchanges for students and university representatives; cooperation in the fields of IT and economics; support for Ukrainian students and young people; and the prospects for developing the partnership between WUNU and Ronneby.

“We are delighted to continue our collaboration, having formalised it today by signing this agreement. It is extremely important for us to develop our partnership, launch new joint projects and create opportunities for further cooperation. We would like to express our sincere thanks to you for your trust, openness and willingness to cooperate,” said the Rector of WUNU during the meeting.

The signing of the agreement will mark a new stage in the development of a partnership that already has a strong track record and has yielded tangible results. Joint educational, cultural and youth initiatives will help to deepen mutual understanding and the exchange of experience, and will open up new opportunities for the university’s students and academics.
