WEST UKRAINIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

 As part of the Erasmus+ academic mobility, an international internship took place in Breda (Kingdom of the Netherlands) from 5 to 10 January 2026 within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 programme.

 At the invitation of Professor Dr. Thomas Schröder, within the framework of the work of the International Centre for Culture and Development of WUNU, from 5 to 9 January 2026, students majoring in B11 ‘Philology’ Adelia Kukharchuk, Khrystyna Kazmirchuk, Andrii Stravskyi, Sviatoslav Bilinskyi, and Viktor Slabodukh, together with Olga Tsaryk, professor at the Department of Foreign Languages and ICT, took part in the Winter School at TU Dortmund on the topic ‘Deutsch-Ukrainische Perspektiven auf Demokratiebildung, Nachhaltigkeit und Digitalisierung’ (German-Ukrainian Perspectives on Democracy Education, Sustainability, and Digitalisation).

 On 8 January 2026, the Department of Audit of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the West Ukrainian National University held the First International Scientific Discussion Platform ‘Accounting, Taxation and Control: Theory and Methodology’, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of West Ukrainian National Universityy. Within the framework of the platform, professional discussions were held on current issues of accounting, taxation and control. The event contributed to the strengthening of international scientific cooperation, the development of scientific research activities and the exchange of experience between representatives of the academic community and practitioners in the relevant field.

 A ceremony was recently held to award diplomas and honours to the winners of the Ukrainian Parliament's Young Scientist Award. We are pleased to announce that one of the winners of this prestigious award is a researcher from our university.

 West Ukrainian National University (Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Sports), together with a consortium of partners, won the RITA (Region in Transition) international grant competition – ‘Polsko-Ukraińskie Regionalne Adaptacyjne Centra – VOL.3’. The project aims to develop a network of academic centres that will provide support in the areas of mental health, physical fitness and social integration to people from high-risk groups.

 On 6 December 2025, the wrap-up of the STEM School of West Ukrainian National University was held. This educational project lasted two months and brought together the most gifted schoolchildren of Ternopil.

 Powiślańska Academy of Applied Sciences (Poland) invites students majoring in Business Administration and Economics at West Ukrainian National University to participate in a competitive selection for a semester of study in the 2025/2026 academic year.

 The Department of International and European Law of West Ukrainian National University hosted a meeting as part of the event ‘Ukraine–Africa: Searching for New Opportunities,’ during which students and teachers spoke with Iryna Ivashchuk, Honorary Consul of Senegal in Ukraine.

 As part of the educational platform ‘International Relations and Diplomacy: British Guest Lectures,’ a lecture-training session on ‘Right-wing Populism’ was held by British expert, principal lecturer and Subject Chair in Politics, International Relations and International Development at Portsmouth University (United Kingdom).

 As part of the Accounting and Taxation course, an interactive practical training session was held for second-year students of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting at West Ukrainian National University.
