A project for veterans and their families to learn English is being implemented at WUNU
In September, West Ukrainian National University launched an educational project called ‘English for War Veterans and Their Families,’ which involves retired war veterans and their families, families of deceased war veterans, and family members of deceased defenders of Ukraine who live in Ternopil and the Ternopil region, including Kremenets, Berezhany, Skalat, Buchach, Pidvolochysk, Chortkiv, Zbarazh, and other cities.

Dear colleagues, dear students and friends of the WUNU university family!
Today, we address each of you with pain that is difficult to express in words. The latest attacks by the Russian aggressor have affected the people of our city — employees and students of WUNU, whose homes have been destroyed or damaged as a result of treacherous strikes, and whose relatives and loved ones are in hospital. Some have lost their homes, others their sense of security and peace of mind, and still others their health, which has been shaken by the war.

An educational online meeting was held for third-level higher education students (postgraduates), organised by Olena Sydorovych, Director of the Education and Research Centre for Training and Certification of Higher Education Institutions and Scientific Personnel at WUNU. The event was moderated by Kazymyr Voznyi, Director of the L. Kanishchenko Library at WUNU, and Volodymyr Pastushchyn.

West Ukrainian National University hosted the graduation ceremony for the second group of internally displaced persons who completed the retraining and social adaptation programme in entrepreneurship as part of the TURBO project “The Universities’ Reaction to Big Obstructions: Building resilient higher education to respond and manage societal crises”. The event marked the successful conclusion of a three-month joint journey.
