WUNU students successfully participated in the interactive practice-oriented initiative ‘WHAT'S IN A NAME? Producer vs. Marketing Agency Simulation’
Students majoring in B11 ‘Philology’ once again confirmed their excellent skills on the international stage. They successfully completed their involvement in the interactive practice-oriented initiative ‘WHAT'S IN A NAME? Producer vs. Marketing Agency Simulation’, organised by German for Business Network UK with the support of the DAAD grant programme.
We are proud that West Ukrainian National University became the first Ukrainian higher education institution to join this project as a full partner. Our students worked in a single international space alongside students from leading British universities, including Cambridge, Durham, Nottingham, Leeds and others. The teams' participation in this large-scale simulation was initiated by Natalia Yashchyk, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and ICT. The project was coordinated by Natalia Yashchyk and Olga Tsaryk, Professor of the same department.
The students received official certificates, commemorative gifts, and, most importantly, got a resounding victory in the ‘Promotional text’ category.
The project provided students with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a realistic business simulation, taking on the roles of product manufacturers and marketing agency representatives. This format allowed them to fully recreate the processes of brand development, positioning, and promotion in the market. Participants developed concepts for new products, came up with creative names and catchy slogans for them, and conducted in-depth analysis of the target audience, linguistic accuracy and cultural context.
In addition, future business communication specialists practised writing strategic marketing statements and professional promotional texts. An important part of the simulation was interaction in the ‘customer-contractor’ format. Young people learned to defend their ideas with arguments and provide constructive feedback. They demonstrated excellent command of business foreign language, high level of intercultural communication, storytelling skills and strategic thinking.
We sincerely congratulate our winners on this significant achievement and wish them new professional successes in the globalised business environment.
