Taking care of mental health

 As part of the TURBO project (“The Universities’ Reaction to Big Obstructions: Building resilient higher education to respond and manage societal crises”), training sessions on psychological first aid were held for internally displaced persons participating in the project. These initiatives are designed to support people who have suffered from the war and were forced to leave their homes. They help restore emotional balance, develop self-help skills, and strengthen psychological resilience in new living conditions.

 A meeting was held at West Ukrainian National University between Dr. Svitlana Kominko, Professor of Psychology at VSIT (Vancouver, Canada), Executive Director and Co-founder of the Canadian non-profit organisation Maple Hope Foundation, and the university administration.

 Professor Antin Shuvar, Professor Ivan Senyk and Associate Professor Uliana Tkach took part in the International Conference ‘Applied Use of Methods to Influence the Heracleum Population with the Aim of Restoring Biodiversity in the Cross-Border Territories of Ukraine and Poland’, which was held in Lviv.



Cooperation with the National School of Administration in Dakar

 The first meeting between the administration of West Ukrainian National University and the leadership of the National School of Administration in Dakar (Ecole nationale d’Administration, ENA, Republic of Senegal) took place.



Students and lecturers from the Law Faculty of WUNU made a study visit to Warsaw

 From 15 to 18 October 2025, students and lecturers from the Faculty of Law atWUZNU, as well as students from the School of Polish and European Law, went on a study visit to Warsaw at the invitation of the Allerhand Institute.



A seminar-workshop entitled ‘Erasmus+ My Farm: Educational, Entrepreneurial and Political Dimensions of Multifunctional Farming’

 A seminar-workshop was held at the West Ukrainian National University as part of the international project ‘Erasmus+ My Farm: Educational, Entrepreneurial and Political Dimensions of Multifunctional Farming.’ The event brought together representatives of the scientific community, educators, entrepreneurs and students interested in introducing innovations in agriculture.

 From 15 to 17 October, the Polish city of Bydgoszcz became the world centre of sports science! Two large-scale events took place at the Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of the University of Economics in Bydgoszcz: the 5th International Scientific Congress of Rescue and the 7th International Scientific Conference ‘State, prospect and development of rescue, physical culture and sports in the 21st century’.



Workshop “Challenges and Victories: Erasmus Projects in Action” at WUNU

 West Ukrainian National University hosted a workshop entitled ‘Challenges and Victories: Erasmus Projects in Action,’ dedicated to sharing practical stories and advice on participating in Erasmus+ project activities.

 On 14 October 2025, Head of International Relations Office Yulia Voityshyn and Professor of the International Economics Department Mariia Lyzun took part in a training seminar for teams of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project winners: ‘Features of implementation, synergy and interaction with other projects and initiatives in the context of martial law in Ukraine,’ which was held online as part of the All-Ukrainian #ErasmusDays2025.



Call for applications for the Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study (VUIAS) programme

 In cooperation with leading institutions in Ukraine, Europe and the United States, the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin has launched an initiative to support Ukrainian scholars — the Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study (VUIAS). The institute began operations in September 2023 and has already accepted its first interdisciplinary group of fellows.
