Taking care of mental health
As part of the TURBO project (“The Universities’ Reaction to Big Obstructions: Building resilient higher education to respond and manage societal crises”), training sessions on psychological first aid were held for internally displaced persons participating in the project. These initiatives are designed to support people who have suffered from the war and were forced to leave their homes. They help restore emotional balance, develop self-help skills, and strengthen psychological resilience in new living conditions.

A seminar-workshop was held at the West Ukrainian National University as part of the international project ‘Erasmus+ My Farm: Educational, Entrepreneurial and Political Dimensions of Multifunctional Farming.’ The event brought together representatives of the scientific community, educators, entrepreneurs and students interested in introducing innovations in agriculture.

From 15 to 17 October, the Polish city of Bydgoszcz became the world centre of sports science! Two large-scale events took place at the Institute of Sport and Physical Culture of the University of Economics in Bydgoszcz: the 5th International Scientific Congress of Rescue and the 7th International Scientific Conference ‘State, prospect and development of rescue, physical culture and sports in the 21st century’.

On 14 October 2025, Head of International Relations Office Yulia Voityshyn and Professor of the International Economics Department Mariia Lyzun took part in a training seminar for teams of Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project winners: ‘Features of implementation, synergy and interaction with other projects and initiatives in the context of martial law in Ukraine,’ which was held online as part of the All-Ukrainian #ErasmusDays2025.
Call for applications for the Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study (VUIAS) programme
In cooperation with leading institutions in Ukraine, Europe and the United States, the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin has launched an initiative to support Ukrainian scholars — the Virtual Ukraine Institute for Advanced Study (VUIAS). The institute began operations in September 2023 and has already accepted its first interdisciplinary group of fellows.
