Representatives of the Department of Agrobiotechnology of WUNU on the international scientific arena!
Professor Antin Shuvar, Professor Ivan Senyk and Associate Professor Uliana Tkach took part in the International Conference ‘Applied Use of Methods to Influence the Heracleum Population with the Aim of Restoring Biodiversity in the Cross-Border Territories of Ukraine and Poland’, which was held in Lviv.
WUNU scientists presented the results of their own research on methods of controlling Heracleum populations to participants and took an active part in scientific debate.
The aim of the conference was to discuss effective methods of controlling invasive populations of Heracleum sosnovskyi, develop joint methodological recommendations for cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland, and establish cooperation between scientists, local authorities, farmers and communities.
The event was held as part of the EU-funded project ‘Protecting the biodiversity of cross-border areas of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of hogweed (Heracleum)’.
The participation of WUNU scientists in such initiatives contributes to the dissemination of applied research, international cooperation and the development of environmentally sustainable solutions in the field of agrobiotechnology.
