Cooperation with the National School of Administration in Dakar
The first meeting between the administration of West Ukrainian National University and the leadership of the National School of Administration in Dakar (Ecole nationale d’Administration, ENA, Republic of Senegal) took place.
The Rector of WUNU, Professor Oksana Desyatnyuk, emphasised the university's opportunities in the field of international cooperation and the implementation of joint educational and scientific projects.
The meeting was moderated by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Uliana Koruts, who presented the main areas of potential partnership, including the implementation of joint master's programmes, academic exchanges, internships and professional development for civil servants. Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Viktor Ostroverkhov and Vice-Rector for Research Mykola Dyvak joined the dialogue.
The event was attended by the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Senegal in Ukraine, Professor Iryna Ivashchuk, who had previously visited ENA and facilitated the establishment of contacts in cooperation with Mr Alhassane NDIAYE, Director of Research and Cooperation at ENA.
During the meeting, ENA Director General Mr Mor FALL introduced the teaching and administrative team and outlined ENA's main areas of activity and professional training programmes, focusing on the training of specialists in public administration and international relations.
The National School of Administration in Dakar is one of Senegal's leading educational institutions, training highly qualified civil servants and managers for the public and private sectors. ENA programmes combine a solid theoretical foundation with a high level of practical training.
ENA Secretary General Mr Mbaye DIOP noted that both educational institutions offer similar master's and certificate programmes, as well as professional development courses, which creates the conditions for effective exchange of pedagogical and scientific experience.
Representatives of the WUNU teaching staff joined the discussion. Professor of the Department of Management, Public Administration and Personnel Hryhorii Monastyrskyi emphasised the importance of exchanging experience in the field of public and municipal administration, and also noted Ukraine's progress in the field of territorial reform. Viktor Rusin, Director of the Education and Research Institute of Public Administration, made proposals for the development of short-term certificate educational programmes and joint professional training for public servants. Iryna Zvarych, Head of the Department of International Economics, highlighted the strengths of Senegalese diplomacy and proposed combining the two countries' experience in this area within the framework of the ‘Economic Diplomacy’ course, considering the possibility of joint research in the field of international relations and professional education of diplomats.
The meeting was the first step towards establishing a partnership between the West Ukrainian National University and the National School of Administration (Dakar).
