Working visit of the WUNU delegation to Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Czech Republic)
From 11 to 13 November 2025, the Rector of WUNU Oksana Desyatnyuk and Vice-Rector for Research Mykola Divak paid a working visit to Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Zlín, Czech Republic).
The visit followed an official invitation from Milan Adamek, Rector of Tomas Bata University in Zlín, and was in line with the Memorandum of Cooperation between West Ukrainian National University and Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss further cooperation and coordinate preparations for the 2026 16th International Conference on Advanced Computer Information Technologies (ACIT'2026), which will be held next year in Zlín.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by Milan Adamek, Rector of the University, Jiří Vojtěšek, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Informatics, David Bilnica, software engineer and ambassador for university cooperation at Monet+, and Libor Dostálek, professor at the Czech Technical University in Prague, Honorary Doctor of WUNU and co-chair of the ACIT'2026 conference.
During the meeting, Rector Milan Adamek gave a presentation of his university, introducing the WUNU delegation to its academic programmes, scientific achievements, opportunities for international cooperation, infrastructure and technical facilities. For her part, Rector of West Ukrainian National University Oksana Desyatnyuk presented WUNU, telling those present about the history of the university, its structure, academic programmes, scientific achievements and areas of development of international cooperation. The parties also discussed opportunities for deepening cooperation between universities in various scientific and educational areas.
A separate important aspect of the negotiations was the discussion of the 2026 16th International Conference on Advanced Computer Information Technologies (ACIT'2026), the main organiser of which is West Ukrainian National University. As agreed by the parties, the conference will be held at the Faculty of Applied Informatics of Tomas Bata University in Zlín. It should be noted that the ACIT conference is organised exclusively by foreign partners and held outside Ukraine. The conference materials are indexed in the Scopus scientometric database, and the ACIT proceedings are the only publication in Ukraine that has the status of a periodical.
Mykola Dyvak, Vice-Rector for Research at WUNU and co-chair of the ACIT'2026 conference, initiated a discussion on key issues related to the preparation and conduct of the event, including financial support, accommodation of participants, and technical equipment for the venues.
David Bilnica, software engineer and ambassador for university cooperation at Monet+, confirmed the company's readiness to sponsor the conference and provide organisational and technical support. Libor Dostálek, professor at the Czech Technical University in Prague, honorary doctor of WUNU and co-chair of ACIT'2026, added that this year's technical support for the event will be provided by the Czechoslovak chapter of the IEEE, which is responsible for expert guidance and organisational support for international scientific conferences.
The parties also discussed issues related to information support for the conference, ensuring the possibility of online participation by foreign scientists, and coordinating the work of the organising committees of the two universities. In turn, the dean of the Faculty of Applied Informatics at Tomas Bata University, Jiří Vojtěch, assured the WUNU delegation that he would provide the necessary material and technical support and comprehensive assistance to ensure the success of the event.
The Rector of Tomas Bata University in Zlín, Milan Adamek, expressed his satisfaction with the top-notch organisation of the ACIT'2026 conference and its scientific significance, and assured the WUNU delegation of his full support for the successful conduct of the event.
At the end of the meetings, the parties summarised the results of the negotiations, outlined the main stages of preparation for the conference, and discussed the prospects for further scientific cooperation between West Ukrainian National University and Tomas Bata University in Zlin.
