The staff of the Department of Educology and Pedagogy of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of WUNU provides educational training for students under the following educational and professional programs:
– first (bachelor’s) level of higher education in the following specialties:
A2 Preschool Education (EPP “Preschool Education. Inclusive Education”);
A3 Primary Education (EPP “Primary Education”);
A5 Vocational Education (EPP “Financial Literacy”, EPP “Digital Technologies”);
– second (master’s) level of higher education in the following specialties:
A1 Educational Sciences (EPP “Management of Educational Institutions”);
A2 Preschool Education (EPP “Preschool Education. Inclusive Education”);
A3 Primary Education (EPP “Primary Education”);
A5 Vocational Education (EPP “Financial Literacy”, EPP “Social Work”, “Human Resource Management”);
– third (educational and scientific) level of higher education in the following specialty:
A1 Educational Sciences (ESP “Educational Sciences”).
During their studies, in addition to general disciplines, students study the following professionally oriented subjects: Introduction to the Specialty, General Pedagogy, History of Pedagogy, Life Safety in Educational Institutions, Fundamentals of Special (Corrective) Pedagogy, Play in Preschool Education Institutions: a Holistic View, a Systemic Approach, Preschool Linguodidactics, Methods of Development and Education of Early Childhood Children, Preschool Pedagogy, Innovative Technologies of Teaching Pedagogy and Methods of Preschool Education, Methods of Working with Children with Special Educational Needs, Innovative Technologies in Education and Science, Management of the Educational Process in Educational Institutions, Technologies of Distance Educational and Scientific Services, Methodology of Scientific Research, Higher School Pedagogy, History of Pedagogy, Training Methodology, General Pedagogy, Informatization of Educational Process Management in Educational Institutions, Theory and Methods of Vocational Education, and others.
After completing studies under the EPP “Preschool Education. Inclusive Education”, university graduates may work as: preschool teacher; social educator working with children with disabilities; teacher assistant in an inclusive classroom; educator of special groups; head of a department (within education management bodies); director of a preschool education institution; methodologist in preschool and inclusive education; educator-methodologist; inspector-methodologist in preschool and inclusive education; and other specialists in preschool and inclusive education.
After completing studies under the EPP “Primary Education”, WUNU graduates may work as: bachelor teacher (primary education); master teacher (primary education); primary school teacher in a general secondary education institution; teacher assistant; teacher of an extended day group.
After completing studies under the EPP “Management of Educational Institutions”, graduates may work as: director of a preschool education institution, general secondary education institution, lyceum, gymnasium, vocational school, college, institute, academy, educational-methodological / scientific-methodological educational institution, etc.; head of postgraduate (internship, residency) studies / laboratory (education); head of an education department or expert department of educational institutions; director of a higher sports skills school, specialized children’s and youth, sports-technical institutions, etc.; lecturer in educational institutions of accreditation levels I–IV; teacher in general secondary education institutions; lecturer in retraining and advanced training of employees of educational institutions of various types and forms of ownership; head of a baby home, children’s home, boarding school, special boarding school, social rehabilitation school, shelter for minors, reception-distribution center, etc.; head of a subdivision in local self-government bodies (UTCs) and public administration; junior researcher of a scientific institution; lecturer, methodologist, inspector-methodologist, assistant, teacher, teacher-organizer, consultant of a center for professional development of pedagogical staff.

The Department implements international cooperation with foreign partners: Shota Rustaveli Batumi State University (Batumi, Georgia), University of Warmia and Mazury (Olsztyn, Republic of Poland), Kujawsko-Pomorska University (Bydgoszcz, Republic of Poland), Baltic International Academy (Riga, Latvia), University of Management and Administration (Republic of Poland), Catholic University in Ružomberok (Slovakia).
The educational and methodological laboratory of preschool and primary education "WUNU kids land" is an innovative space at West Ukrainian National University (WUNU), created to train highly qualified specialists in the field of preschool and primary education. It is a modern educational hub where students and teachers can practically apply innovative technologies and teaching and upbringing methods for preschool children and primary school pupils, create and test the latest educational materials and programs, conduct scientific research in the field of preschool and primary education using modern equipment, study in conditions which are close to real educational institutions, expand their knowledge, and acquire practical skills that meet current labor market requirements.
The laboratory is equipped with interactive materials, specialized furniture, didactic and game-based teaching aids, which contributes to effective knowledge acquisition and the development of creative thinking of future educators.
