WEST UKRAINIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

From 2 to 4 September 2026, the 16th International Conference on Advanced Computer Information Technologies (ACIT’2026) is taking place in Zlín (Czech Republic). The event is being held in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend both in person and remotely.

The conference is organised by the IEEE Czechoslovakia Section, West Ukrainian National University and Tomas Bata University in Zlín. The conference is held with the support of the Wrocław University of Economics and Business (Poland), Šibenik University of Applied Sciences (Croatia), the Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Germany), the Catholic University in Ružomberok (Slovakia), MONET+ (Czech Republic) and in partnership with the Ternopil Regional Association of Computer and Information Technology Specialists.

ACIT is an international academic forum that brings together researchers, academics, representatives from business and industry, practitioners and students from various engineering and scientific disciplines. The conference also provides opportunities for professional dialogue between specialists whose interdisciplinary research covers information technology, computer science, software engineering, mathematical modelling, artificial intelligence, the application of information technology in economics and management, cyber security, digital business, as well as specialised information and computer systems.

Oksana Desyatnyuk, Rector of WUNU, addressed the conference participants with a welcoming speech: “It is a great honour for West Ukrainian National University to be among the organisers of ACIT’2026 and, together with leading European universities and research institutions, to contribute to shaping the agenda of this prestigious international conference. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Tomas Bata University in Zlín (Czech Republic) for its cooperation and for creating a platform for international academic exchange. Such partnerships are of the utmost importance, as it is through collaboration between universities and research institutions that the modern global research community is shaped. I wish the participants of ACIT’2026 meaningful and fruitful discussions, new ideas and productive outcomes. May the research presented be further developed, and may the connections and academic contacts forged in Zlín grow into joint international projects.”

The conference partners also joined in the congratulations: David Bilnica, a representative of MONET+ (Czech Republic), and Kateryna Mikhailidi, head of the Ternopil IT Cluster (Ukraine). In their speeches, they emphasised the importance of close collaboration between universities, the academic community and the IT sector, as well as the development of international professional networks.

To conclude the opening ceremony, Professor Mykola Dyvak, Vice-Rector for Research at West Ukrainian National University and co-chair of the conference, took the floor. He thanked the partner universities for their assistance in organising ACIT 2026, as well as the members of the organising and programme committees for their significant efforts in preparing for the conference.

Professor Mykola Dyvak presented the key statistics for this year’s conference. A total of 650 research papers were submitted to ACIT 2026 by over 1,500 authors representing 65 countries and more than 320 universities worldwide. Such a wide geographical spread of participants once again confirms the conference’s high international standing and the scientific community’s considerable interest in its subject matter. In his speech, Professor Mykola Dyvak paid particular attention to Ukraine. He reminded international partners and conference participants that Ukraine continues to work, educate students and conduct scientific research amidst Russian aggression. The professor expressed his sincere gratitude to international partners for their unwavering support of Ukrainian academics and universities, as well as to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for enabling the Ukrainian academic community to continue its scientific work and take part in such large-scale international events.

Following the opening ceremony, work began in six thematic sections: Computational Intelligence and Mathematical Modelling; Information in Economy and Management; Cyber Security; Specialised Information and Computer Systems; Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive Systems; Information Technology in Education. On the first day, participants presented 124 research papers. The section sessions were accompanied by lively discussions, with participants exchanging views on research findings, new approaches and prospects for further international scientific collaboration.

West Ukrainian National University would like to express sincere gratitude to all authors for presenting the results of their scientific research and for choosing ACIT’2026 as an international forum for their discussion and dissemination. We hope that the conference will serve as a source of new scientific ideas, foster fruitful professional discussions, strengthen existing partnerships and launch new international and interdisciplinary projects. We are confident that the research findings presented in the ACIT’2026 proceedings will be of benefit to researchers, lecturers, students, industry representatives and practitioners, and will make a significant contribution to the further development of computer science and information technology.
