The EIT Info Day Ternopil was held at WUNU
On 12 June 2026, the EIT Info Day Ternopil took place at West Ukrainian National University. The event was organised by the EIT Community Hub Ukraine – the official representative office of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) in Ukraine – in partnership with West Ukrainian National University. The event brought together students and researchers interested in developing innovative projects and international cooperation.
The event served as a platform for presenting the EIT Community’s current programmes and opportunities, aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, innovation, education and research. Participants were provided with information on open grant calls, accelerator programmes, international internships, educational initiatives, as well as ways to secure funding and partners for their own projects.
Andrii Kizyma, Dean of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, emphasising the importance of fostering a culture of innovation, supporting young entrepreneurs and strengthening cooperation between Ukrainian and European organisations.
During the event, Diana Bobrivets, Project Manager at EIT Community Hub Ukraine, presented the current opportunities offered by the EIT Community to Ukrainian start-ups, students, researchers and business representatives. In particular, participants learnt about funding programmes for innovative projects, international educational and acceleration initiatives, tools to support student entrepreneurship, and opportunities to take part in international partnership projects. Particular attention was paid to open calls in the fields of digital technologies, energy, agri-food technologies, healthcare, the creative industries and sustainable development.
A separate session was dedicated to international opportunities for Ukrainian start-ups and companies. Ilona Mamchur, Chief People Officer at EIT Community Hub Ukraine, presented support tools that help Ukrainian teams increase their international visibility, expand their professional networks and enter new markets. The presentation also highlighted opportunities to take part in IT Arena 2026 – one of the largest technology conferences in Central and Eastern Europe.
Event participants learnt about the EIT Community’s programmes for various target audiences – ranging from students and early-career researchers to universities, civil society organisations and business representatives. Among the opportunities presented were grants for innovative projects, international internships, programmes to develop entrepreneurial skills, support for university consortia, and tools for scaling up start-ups and attracting investment.
The interactive part of the event generated considerable interest among the audience, as participants had the opportunity to ask the speakers questions, seek advice on taking part in EIT Community programmes, and discuss the prospects for developing their own projects in collaboration with European partners.
The EIT Info Day in Ternopil marked another step towards strengthening ties between the Ukrainian innovation community and the European innovation ecosystem. The event confirmed the keen interest among young people and researchers in international development programmes, which open up new prospects for professional growth, project scaling and Ukraine’s integration into the European innovation space.
