Representatives of the Department of Economics and Global Studies participated in New Economy 2026
On 11–12 June 2026, the academic staff of the Department of Economics and Global Studies of West Ukrainian National University took part in the 14th Traditional Scientific Conference ‘NEW ECONOMY 2026’, which was held in Nowy Sącz, Poland, in a hybrid format.
This year, the School of Business at National Louis University acted as co-organiser and host institution for the conference.
The international scientific conference (https://conference.oikosinstitut.org/) is organised by West Ukrainian National University in collaboration with the Oikos Institute – Research Centre (Bijeljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina), pursuant to an agreement concluded between the two institutions.
The annual conference serves as a platform for fostering international academic collaboration, discussing current economic issues and implementing joint research projects. The results of the research are published in the specialist journal ECONOMICS – Innovative and Economics Research Journal (https://economicsrs.com/), which is indexed in the Scopus database (Q2).
Prof. Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi, Doctor of Economics, was invited as a guest speaker to address the session ‘The New Economy in the Age of AI: Opportunities, Risks, and the Transformation of Society’, and also presented the findings of the study ‘The structure of social trust: The issue of institutional heterogeneity’, conducted in collaboration with Professor Viktor Koziuk, Professor Yurii Haida and Associate Professor Oksana Shymanska.
Head of the Department of Economics and Global Studies, Professor Viktor Koziuk, Doctor of Economics, presented the findings of the study ‘Context Limits for the Privacy Paradox: Information Transparency and Sequence of Preferences’, conducted in collaboration with Associate Professor Yurii Ivashuk and PhD student Nazar Tsiapa.
Following the results of the latest conference, the Department of Economics and Global Studies plans to sign an institutional cooperation agreement between WUNU and the School of Business at National Louis University, as well as to undertake joint research and international projects for the period 2026–2027.
