A traditional gala reception was held in Kyiv to mark the 78th anniversary of the State of Israel’s independence, attended by representatives of West Ukrainian National University. The event, organised by the Embassy of the State of Israel in Ukraine, served as an opportunity to review the embassy team’s achievements during their term of office and to discuss future areas of cooperation.

During the official part of the event, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Michael Brodsky and Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Oleksandr Mishchenko outlined the strategic priorities for bilateral relations, focusing on shared security challenges, state resilience and the fight for sovereignty. An important cultural and historical element of the reception was the presentation of unique materials from the State Archives Service concerning the life and work of Golda Meir.

During the meeting, the participants paid particular attention to the conclusion of Ambassador Michael Brodsky’s five-year term in Ukraine. University representatives expressed their gratitude to the head of the diplomatic mission for his assistance in involving WUNU in the ‘Israel-Ukraine Recovery Dialogue’. Thanks to this support, the university’s researchers have become active participants in prestigious international platforms such as the EcoMotion Assembly and Israeli Energy Tech. Currently, the priority areas of technology transfer for WUNU remain the modernisation of domestic water supply systems, the digitalisation of environmental monitoring, the introduction of the latest agricultural technologies, and the development of comprehensive psychological rehabilitation programmes.
