A field trip organised by the WUNU Marketing Club
Students of the D5 ‘Marketing’ programme at the Faculty of Economics and Management of West Ukrainian National University, together with lecturers from the Department of Marketing, took part in an away meeting of the WUNU Marketing Club, which was held in Ivano-Frankivsk and the Carpathian region.
The programme for the event was designed to combine modern educational practices, professional development and informal networking among participants. The first stage of the trip was a visit to the Promprylad.Renovation innovation centre in Ivano-Frankivsk – one of the most successful examples of industrial site regeneration in Ukraine. The students learnt about the principles of how an innovation ecosystem works, as well as the mechanisms for developing creative industries, entrepreneurship and social projects.
The participants paid particular attention to examining the brand identity of the city of Ivano-Frankivsk, analysing its brand attributes, visual concept and the tools used to shape a positive image of the region. This practical approach enabled the future marketologists to see real-life examples of area branding and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing solutions in an urban environment.
The rest of the event took place in the picturesque village of Polianytsia in the Carpathians. During the networking session, participants discussed current challenges facing the marketing profession, exchanged ideas and experiences, and established professional contacts. Teamwork was a key component of the event, helping to develop leadership skills, creative thinking and the ability to work as part of a team.
As part of the trip, a team marketing challenge entitled ‘Brand of the Mountains’ took place, during which students developed branding concepts for tourist destinations in the Carpathian region. Working on these practical case studies gave them the opportunity to apply the knowledge they had gained in the fields of branding, positioning and marketing communications.
The event concluded with a panel discussion entitled ‘Marketing of the Future: Trends, Innovations, AI’, during which students and lecturers discussed the prospects for the development of marketing in the context of digital transformation, the use of artificial intelligence in marketing activities, and the new skills required of today’s professionals.
Such activities form an important part of the practice-oriented training provided to students at West Ukrainian National University; they help to build professional skills, foster creativity and teamwork, and deepen students’ understanding of current trends in marketing.
The Department of Marketing at WUNU would like to thank all participants in the Marketing Club’s off-site meeting for their enthusiasm, initiative and commitment to professional development.
