Charity event at the Novovolynsk Education and Research Institute of Economics and Management
The Novovolynsk Education and Research Institute of Economics and Management of WUNU hosted a charity event entitled ‘A Mother’s Prayer and the Strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’, dedicated to Mother’s Day, which will be celebrated in Ukraine on 10 May this year.
The pre-holiday event brought together students, lecturers, staff from the institute and residents of the Novovolynsk community around a shared goal — supporting Ukraine’s defenders. Participants paid tribute to the mothers who raised true heroes and expressed their gratitude to the soldiers who are defending Ukraine today.
During the event, the hall was filled with songs performed by the ‘Nadiya’ ensemble, as well as Ukrainian poetry by Liudmyla Mykytiuk, Liubov Zanichkovska and Professor Nelia Chorna of the institute.
A highlight of the event was the charity auction. Attendees had the opportunity to purchase symbolic military trophies, items handmade by servicemen, and works by local artists. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, 14,600 hryvnias were raised, which will be used to purchase drones and defence equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Such initiatives once again demonstrate the power of Ukrainian unity and the importance of supporting our defenders. We bow our heads in respect to every mother who has raised a hero – brave, strong in spirit and loyal to their homeland. Your love is the shield that protects Ukraine.
