A dialogue on Ukraine’s European future
The first discussion forum of the new educational project ‘European Dialogues’ took place at West Ukrainian National University, focusing on the theme ‘Ukraine in the EU: the youth perspective’.
The event, organised by the School of Effective Management Leaders of the Department of Management, Public Administration and Human Resources at the Faculty of Economics and Management, in collaboration with the Serhii Konoval Department of Political Science and Philosophy at the B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations of WUNU, has become an important platform for discussing Ukraine’s European future through the lens of young people’s perspectives.
Andrii Kotsur, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. In his address, he noted that young people are the future of Ukraine, the driving force behind nation-building processes and a key factor in successful European integration. Andrii Kotsur emphasised the importance of supporting the younger generation in developing new leadership skills and expressed his sincere gratitude to Professor Anetta Zielińska for her long-standing cooperation, international partnership and significant contribution to the development of academic ties between West Ukrainian National University and Wrocław University of Economics.
Ruslan Avhustyn, Head of the Department of Management, Public Administration and Human Resources, also joined in the congratulations. He emphasised the importance of international cooperation, the advancement of European integration, and the strengthening of partnerships in the fields of education and science. Ruslan Avhustyn paid particular attention to the need to support young people, develop psychological resilience and build inner strength in the face of the modern global challenges facing Ukrainian society.
The event was moderated by dr. hab. Anetta Zielinska, professor at the Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland), Honorary Doctor of WUNU, and DSc(Econ) Hryhorii Monastyrskyi, Professor of the Department of Management, Public Administration and Human Resources, as well as PhD(Hist) Myroslava Huryk, Associate Professor of the Serhii Konoval Department of Political Science and Philosophy.
During the discussion, students from the degree programmes in ‘Public Management and Administration’, “International and Regional Political Communications”, “Management” and “Human Resource Management” actively debated Ukraine’s prospects for European Union membership, the role of young people in the processes of European integration, as well as the current challenges and opportunities shaping the country’s development.
The ‘European Dialogues’ project has opened up new avenues for strengthening international cooperation, developing youth leadership and shaping a modern European vision for Ukraine’s future.
