New opportunities for international internships in Finland for lecturers and postgraduate students of WUNU
The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced the launch of new rounds of international research placements in Finland for 2026. West Ukrainian National University invites department heads, lecturers and postgraduate students to take part in this opportunity to learn from leading European practices.
The event is organised by the Association of Ukrainians in Finland and the OPPI Sippola Educational Centre, with the active support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Finland.
Applications are now open for two internship programmes. The first is ‘The Higher Education System in Finland: Administrative and Legal Aspects’. This programme focuses on the specific features of how Finnish higher education institutions operate and the legal regulation of educational processes. Dates: 16 May 2026 – 24 May 2026; 26 September 2026 – 4 October 2026.

The second programme is the ‘International Research Internship (General Programme)’, which is aimed at a wide range of educators and researchers seeking to establish international partnerships and enhance their professional skills. Dates: 9 May 2026 – 17 May 2026; 3 October 2026 – 11 October 2026; 24 October 2026 – 1 November 2026. The best participants will be invited to take part in the final stage in Japan alongside their Finnish colleagues.
