A graduation ceremony was held at the picturesque Zbarazh Castle to award diplomas to graduating students of the Faculty of Law of West Ukrainian National University. Graduates in the fields of ‘Law’, ‘International Law’ and ‘Law Enforcement’ received their diplomas.

This special day brought together the graduates, their families, teachers and guests. The young men and women were joined by guests including: the Head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration and war veteran Taras Pastukh, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament and Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine Ivan Kalaur, the President of the Ternopil District Administrative Court, Uliana Mirinovich, and the Deputy Head of the Police Department, Head of the Investigation Division of Police Station No. 2 of the Ternopil District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Ternopil Region – Mykola Striletskyi.

Today’s young people are a model of responsibility, dignity and strength. This is a generation that has grown up in a time of great challenges, yet has not lost faith in its country; it has chosen the path of education, professional development and service to society. The patriotism of young Ukrainians is evident not only on the front line, but also in their daily work, studies, volunteering, civic engagement and readiness to build a just, strong and European Ukraine. “I wish each of you every success in your professional choices and that you may serve the people, the community and Ukraine with dignity. Remember: law and justice are a great power. But law without justice turns into tyranny. Therefore, every decision you make must be not only lawful, but also honest, humane and responsible,” said Taras Pastukh.

A particularly poignant and deeply moving moment of the event was the performance of the Ukrainian national anthem. At that moment, a special atmosphere of unity, profound gratitude and unwavering faith in the future of our country filled the hall.

Addressing the graduates, rector Oksana Desyatnyuk remarked: ‘Today is both a joyful and a sad day. It is hard to say goodbye to students who, over the years of study, have become true friends and an integral part of our large university family. Now you are heading off to different corners of Ukraine, but wherever you may be, you will always remain part of our community. We thank God and the Armed Forces of Ukraine for every morning that has given us the opportunity to teach, and you the chance to master your dream profession. May the knowledge gained within these walls become a solid foundation for your achievements, career growth and life values. Be happy, healthy, and above all, genuine and honest. The university’s doors are always open to you. Your alma mater will always be waiting for you and will support you at any moment. Carry the name of a graduate of West Ukrainian National University with dignity! Fare thee well!'

In his address to the graduates, Ivan Kalaur, Member of the Ukrainian Parliament and Honoured Lawyer of Ukraine, said: ‘Ahead of you lies a path of great opportunities and responsible decisions. May each of you find your calling in the legal profession and fulfil your potential in the service of law and justice. It is up to you to strengthen the legal foundations of our state, rebuild it and establish the rule of law within it. I believe that you will walk this path with dignity and make a significant contribution to the future of Ukraine!”
