WUNU’s trusted partners
As part of the international conference ‘Ukraine in the Context of Legal System Reform’, Dr Monika Strus-Wolos — a Doctor of Law from the University of Warsaw and a partner at a renowned law firm in Warsaw — visited West Ukrainian National University. Her participation in the events made a significant contribution to the development of international academic dialogue and the support of Ukrainian legal education. During her presentation, Dr Strus-Wolos shared European experience of legal system reform, focusing on the practical aspects of the legal profession, the protection of human rights and the improvement of civil proceedings.
Her support for Ukrainian students is particularly valuable. Thanks to initiatives by Dr Monika Strus-Wolos, internships are available at her law firm in Warsaw. Such programmes enable young lawyers to gain practical experience in an international environment, familiarise themselves with European standards of legal practice, and broaden their professional horizons.
It is important to note that these visits were initiated by Professor Fryderyk Zoll, a professor at Jagiellonian University and a member of the Supervisory Board of West Ukrainian National University. It is thanks to his proactive attitude and consistent support that leading figures from the Polish legal community are becoming involved with the university.
At this difficult time for Ukraine, Dr Strus-Wolos and prof. Zoll have consistently shown solidarity with and support for Ukraine, helping to foster educational and professional ties between Ukraine and Poland. Their work serves as an example of how international cooperation can have a tangible impact on shaping a new generation of lawyers and strengthening Ukraine’s legal system.
