Masterclass: ‘Create Your Own Pysanka’ by Yaroslav Osadtsa, a master of folk arts and crafts, for students of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting
A masterclass entitled ‘Create Your Own Pysanka’ was held at West Ukrainian National University by Yaroslav Osadtsa, a master of folk arts and crafts. The event was organised for students of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting with the aim of promoting Ukrainian folk traditions.
During the workshop, participants learnt about the history and symbolism of pysanka-making – one of the oldest forms of Ukrainian decorative and appliqué art. The students created their own pysankas, mastering traditional painting techniques and immersing themselves in a creative atmosphere.
The event was made particularly memorable by the participation of a master craftsman who actively promotes the Ukrainian tradition of pysanka-making and passes on traditional knowledge to the younger generation. Yaroslav Osadtsa shared his professional experience with the students, explained the symbolism of the patterns and colours characteristic of different regions of Ukraine, and demonstrated his own creative approaches to making pysankas.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Yaroslav Osadtsa, a master of folk arts and crafts, and to all participants for their enthusiasm and commitment to preserving Ukrainian traditions!
