Klaipėda University and Riga Technical University (Liepāja Campus) invite undergraduate and postgraduate students to attend a summer school
The Baltic University Programme, Klaipėda University and Riga Technical University (Liepāja Campus) invite undergraduate and postgraduate students to a summer school focusing on the Baltic Sea environment and the development of coastal areas.
Dates and venue: 2–9 August 2026, Klaipėda (Lithuania) and Liepāja (Latvia).
Credits: 3 ECTS from Klaipėda University upon successful completion.
Programme:
• Study of the Baltic Sea on land and in coastal areas.
• Exploration of the unique coastal environment of the Curonian Spit, including a visit to the village of Šventoji and the East Coast Regional Park.
• Case studies in small groups led by postgraduate students: data collection, consultations with experts, analysis of key indicators and presentation of results.
• Lectures, seminars and interactive activities.
Who can apply:
• Undergraduate and postgraduate students
• PhD students – with the opportunity to lead groups and practise mentoring.
• No prior experience in the Baltic Sea region is required.
Cost: free of charge (students are responsible for their own travel to Klaipėda).
Accommodation and meals: provided from 2 to 9 August.
