Meeting of the IEEE Student Branch at WUNU
Our university recently hosted a forum for discussing innovation and scientific and technological development, with a meeting of the IEEE Student Branch at West Ukrainian National University taking place. Participants focused on strategic plans for the branch’s development, discussing future projects and expanding opportunities for the professional growth of young specialists and researchers within the international community.
The student branch was established in 1998 and has now been given a new lease of life. It currently brings together 12 proactive students and postgraduates from various years and majors of the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies, who are keen to develop their skills in the fields of electrical engineering, electronics and computer science.
The meeting was initiated by the branch’s adviser, Prof. Anatoliy Sachenko, with the support of the head of the IEEE Measurement, Instrumentation and Computational Intelligence Section, Assoc. Prof. Pavlo Bykov. The meeting was also attended by Assoc. Prof. Lesya Dubchak, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering. During the meeting, the educators elected a new executive committee for the branch, which will oversee the branch’s activities for the current year. It comprises: Branch Chair Vitalii Leus, a fourth-year student of Computer Science; Deputy Chair Oksana Karpinska, a second-year student of Computer Engineering; Treasurer Maksym Palko, a first-year postgraduate student in Computer Science; and Secretary Solomiya Marchuk, a first-year student in Cybersecurity.
The branch’s operations are overseen and its initiatives supported academically by Prof. Anatoliy Sachenko and the Scientific Research Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems, in collaboration with the Faculty of Computer and Information Technologies at WUNU.
The meeting proceeded in a constructive and inspiring fashion, setting out the plan of action for the IEEE Student Branch at WUNU and its executive committee for the current year. We invite proactive and motivated undergraduate and postgraduate students at WUNU to join our family!
