Open House at WUNU!
Today, West Ukrainian National University held an Open House. Despite air raid alerts, hundreds of young men and women from all over Ukraine visited WUNU, accompanied by their parents and loved ones. Everyone wanted to see for themselves where they would study and spend the best years of their student lives.
Guests had the opportunity to talk with faculty members, students, and representatives from all institutes, faculties, and colleges. Department chairs discussed educational programmes, the unique aspects of the curriculum, practical training, and how the university fosters students’ creative potential and helps them chart a successful educational path.
The university’s rector, Oksana Desyatnyuk, welcomed the guests and told them about the research and international activities of the higher education institution. Prof. Desyatnyuk spoke about WUNU’s position in national and international rankings, its facilities, the education system, modern laboratories, sports clubs, clubs for creative pursuits, the L. Kanishchenko Library, and the academic and research centres that support students across various disciplines. The rector paid particular attention to international student academic mobility programmes.
Mykola Horodetskyi, a trusted partner of WUNU and director of the Ternopil Regional Employment Centre, spoke at the Open Day. He shared useful information on employment, grants for young people, and the prospects of starting one’s own business after graduation.
Vasyl Melnychenko, Executive Secretary of the WUNU Admissions Board, gave prospective students a detailed overview of the 2026 admissions campaign, including how the competitive score is calculated, the number of applications and their priority, admission requirements, the specifics of the National Multi-Subject Test, the 2026 NMST schedule, and the available degree programmes and courses.
In addition, Vitalii Mykhailytsia, a historian and lecturer at WUNU, led an interesting tour of the university campus for the secondary school pupils. The young people were shown the modern hubs, lecture theatres, halls of residence and sports facilities.
