WUNU Lecturers are taking part in international training under the project ‘Polsko-Ukrainskie Regionalne Adaptacyjne Centra – Vol. 3’
On 16 March 2026, in Bydgoszcz (Republic of Poland), Natalia Bezpalova, Acting Head of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Sport at WUNU, Professor Roman Tsykvas and Associate Professor Roman Hakh started training as part of the international project ‘Polish-Ukrainian Regional Adaptive Centres - Vol. 3’.
The project is co-funded by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation as part of the RITA programme – ‘Changes in the Region’ – implemented by the ‘Education for Democracy’ Foundation. The main project implementer is the WSG Academic Sports Association, with support provided by the Wyższa Szkoła Gospodarki.
It is important to note that five further higher education institutions are participating in the project on the Ukrainian side, which demonstrates broad inter-institutional cooperation and a shared interest in the development of modern adaptive, rehabilitative and socially oriented practices.
The training programme is designed to equip participants with modern approaches to the organisation of adaptation centres, to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and to enhance practical skills in the areas of psychological support, occupational therapy and social adaptation for various groups of the population.
The participation of representatives from West Ukrainian National University in this international project is of significant practical importance, as an adaptation centre is to be established at WUNU, which will serve as a hub for support, collaboration and the implementation of modern approaches to adaptation and rehabilitation.
The knowledge gained, practical experience acquired and professional contacts established will contribute to the further development of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Sport, the improvement of the educational process, the expansion of international cooperation and the implementation of important social initiatives at West Ukrainian National University.
