On 19 December 2025, students of the School of Polish and European Law of WUNU met with the Consul General of Ukraine in Krakow, Viacheslav Voinarovskyi. The meeting was also attended by lecturers from the Faculty of Law of WUNU (Liudmila Savanets, Olha Zastavna, Anna Poperechna, Tetiana Podkovenko) and the Faculty of Law and Administration of Jagiellonian University — Katarzyna Poludnyak-Gierz.

Students and educators focused on the development of Ukrainian-Polish relations and their current challenges; analysis of the current geopolitical situation in the context of full-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine; discussion of systematic violations of international law by the aggressor state, in particular international humanitarian law, the commission of war crimes, crimes against humanity and acts of genocide, as well as issues of ensuring consular and legal protection of Ukrainian citizens abroad in the context of mass migration and the specifics of the operation of foreign diplomatic missions during wartime.

The visit of the delegation from West Ukrainian National University to Krakow is of great importance for the institutional development of inter-university cooperation between Ukraine and Poland, playing an important role in deepening professional communication between legal scholars at the international level.

We are sincerely grateful to Consul Viacheslav Voinarovskyi for the interesting conversation and warm welcome, and to Honorary Professor of WUNU, member of the University Supervisory Board, Professor Fryderyk Zoll for his assistance in organising the meeting.
