International seminar ‘Security in Law’

 On 19–20 December 2025, the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University hosted an international scientific seminar entitled ‘Security in Law,’ dedicated to a comprehensive understanding of the legal aspects of security in the context of contemporary global challenges.


The event was co-organized by the Department of International and European Law and the School of Polish and European Law of West Ukrainian National University, and the Comparative Private Law Division of the Department of Civil Law and the School of Ukrainian Law of Jagiellonian University.


The seminar included professional discussions on theoretical, methodological and applied issues of the legal category of security, as well as an exchange of scientific approaches between representatives of the academic communities of Ukraine and Poland. The event became an important platform for the development of inter-university cooperation and the deepening of international scientific dialogue.


The seminar covered the following topics: security and technology; security in the international dimension; security and international standards; security as a legal category: theoretical and methodological dimensions; security in law: private law dimension; personal security.


West Ukrainian National University was represented by students of the School of Polish and European Law, including students of the Faculty of Law, the B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations, the Education and Research Institute of Innovation, Nature Management and Infrastructure, as well as lecturers from the Department of International and European Law and the Department of Theory of Law and Constitutionalism.
