On 24 February, on the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion, students and postgraduates majoring in Political Science at the Serhiy Konoval Department of Political Science and Philosophy at WUNU took part in an important television project on TV-4.

The topic of the event, ‘Four Years of Resistance: What Gives Us the Strength to Live and Create?’, brought people from different professions and with different stories to the studio. Among the invited guests were: Ruslan Pelekhatyi, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war; Oleksandra Khoma, the wife of a deceased paramedic; Serhii Danilin, spokesperson for the regional department of the State Emergency Service; and Alla Dihtiariova, a volunteer and internally displaced person. The students actively participated in the discussion, sharing their memories of the morning of 24 February 2022, reflecting on how the war forced their generation to grow up much faster, and discussing the importance of young people returning from abroad to rebuild our country.

In particular, young people asked guests questions about personal and professional experiences. The students were interested in how civilians can better understand the needs of veterans, what helps them adapt to new challenges, and what they should focus their attention and energy on today. The answers from those directly involved in the events became a source of inspiration and understanding of the real needs of society for the young people.

At the end of the meetup, everyone agreed that we should appreciate life here and now, that we shouldn't put off learning or growing until ‘after the war,’ but instead work on ourselves every day, help others, and do our bit in the common struggle by supporting those who are holding the front line.

We would like to thank TV-4 for inviting our students and giving them the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful, candid and heartfelt conversation that brings generations together and reminds us why we continue our fight!
