Student feedback on semester-long Erasmus+ studies in Croatia
Students of West Ukrainian National University completed a semester of study at the University of Applied Sciences in Šibenik (Croatia) as part of the Erasmus+ academic mobility programme. We are delighted that our youngsters have been mastering the intricacies of their chosen specialities, integrating into the European educational community and representing their home university with honour abroad.
The semester in Croatia required them to successfully master their subjects, quickly adapt to international standards, and overcome language barriers. It was a time of intense work, where theory from textbooks was intertwined with daily intercultural communication and new acquaintances. The successes of our students prove once again that there are no boundaries to a genuine desire for knowledge.
Serhii Klishch, a student of the IPZ-41 group, shares his impressions of the programme: "For me, this exchange was not only a cultural challenge, but also a professional one. As a student of software engineering, it was extremely valuable to compare approaches to training specialists in another country. Staying abroad helped me develop independence and improve my English. This experience strengthened my confidence and further motivated me to pursue professional development."
Vadym Nadvynychnyi, student of the IPZ-21 group: "The Croatian city of Šibenik is a town with old stone streets and incredible sunsets over the bay. Its slow pace of life allowed me to focus on my studies. The language barrier disappears quickly when you find yourself in an environment where communication is the only way to understand. In four months, I not only improved my theory, but also understood local life from the inside. The most valuable thing about Erasmus is the people and the experience that you cannot get in any classroom."
Natalia Bezpalko, student of the BCP-21 group: "Erasmus+ is an opportunity to broaden your horizons and gain new knowledge and acquaintances. I studied in Šibenik, a city on the Adriatic coast, where ancient streets and sunsets leave special memories. At the University of Šibenik, I studied languages and tourism. English was my only means of communication. Four months allowed me to better understand the Croatian way of life. The most important thing was communicating with foreign students. Erasmus is a way to step out of your comfort zone and gain invaluable experience, which I recommend to everyone."
Erasmus+ is development, new horizons and an international environment.
