Interactive lecture by Evita Psoni, founder of Smart Education & Smart Consulting, ‘Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Transformations in Leadership, Shared Leadership, and Collaboration’
An interactive lecture entitled ‘Leadership in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Transformations in Leadership, Shared Leadership and Cooperation’ was held at West Ukrainian National University.
The speaker at the event was Evita Psoni, founder of Smart Education & Smart Consulting, economist, lecturer, trainer, researcher in education and leadership at the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB), and co-founder of the non-profit organisation Beyond Orbit, which implements educational and research programmes in the field of space exploration (Greece).
Teachers, researchers, postgraduate students and applicants from various specialities of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting and the B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations at WUNU joined the discussion.
In her presentation, the lecturer noted the spread of artificial intelligence technologies in various spheres of human life and emphasised the need to master and implement these technologies, as they are one of the examples of scientific and technological progress.
Exploring the issue of changing business and team management in connection with the emergence of artificial intelligence, the lecturer noted: "Formal leadership in terms of relationships between team members and the distribution of responsibilities would not be as effective in virtual teamwork. Formal leadership in a virtual team has a negative impact on the final result. Trust in team members in such an environment becomes one of the important elements of an effective team." It is important to maintain coordination and control within the team, as the absence of clearly defined formal leadership reduces the sense of personal responsibility.
The lecture took the form of a discussion with questions, answers and discussion of problematic issues.
We would like to thank Ms. Evita for researching the possibilities of implementing AI technologies in science and education, as well as for her practical assessment of such implementation based on current global experience.
