Lecture by Martin Piri, ‘Financial and Legal Foundations for Building a Tolerant and Open Society: Theoretical Principles and Practical Experience of the Slovak Republic’
West Ukrainian National University hosted a lecture entitled ‘Financial and Legal Foundations for Building a Tolerant and Open Society: Theoretical Principles and Practical Experience of the Slovak Republic.’
The speaker for the event was Martin Piri, PhD, JUDr. – Associate Professor of Financial and Administrative Law; consultant for the professional portal ‘Právna revue’, Faculty of Law, Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica (Slovakia).
Teachers, researchers, postgraduate students and learners of all specialisations of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting joined the discussion.
In his presentation, the lecturer focused on the key challenges facing a modern democratic state, the legal and financial mechanisms of the country's existence, and revealed the specifics of concrete solutions for fostering tolerance and openness in society.
In his presentation, the expert focused on human dignity and equality before the law, protection of citizens' rights, the rule of law and pluralism of opinion. The speaker also emphasised the importance of developing a ‘green economy’.
Martin Piri drew attention to the current challenges facing Slovakia and Ukraine, emphasised support for Ukrainians in difficult times, and assured that the Slovak people would assist Ukraine in its efforts to integrate into the European community.
