Strengthening the Agency's team with expertise in the field of WASAW
The Regional Development Agency in the Ternopil region has selected an expert on WASAW (waste management, water supply and sanitation) issues as part of grant support received from the Swiss-Ukrainian project ‘Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine’, UCORD.
Leonid Bytsiura, Head of the Department of Ecology and Healthcare at West Ukrainian National University, PhD, member of the Ukrainian Water Association, was appointed as the WASAW expert.
Leonid Bytsiura has practical experience in water management, waste management and energy efficiency. He actively cooperates with communities in developing waste management policies and plans, and draws on international experience in modernising water infrastructure (MIT, MASHAV, Finnish Water Forum).
The tasks of the WASAW expert in the Agency's team:
▪️Strategic planning and capacity building: helping stakeholders gain practical knowledge for strategic planning in WASAW.
▪️Project management: improving the quality of investment proposals in the areas of WASAW
▪️Implementation of initiatives: identifying and launching WASAW initiatives at regional and local levels.
▪️Partnerships: developing a sustainable partnership network and inter-municipal partnerships in the areas of WASAW.
