Athens Negotiations Tournament – The World Edition
The Education and Research Centre for Communications at the West Ukrainian National University, within the framework of international cooperation with the Athens University of Economics and Business, is announcing the opportunity for student teams to participate in the international competition Athens Negotiations Tournament. The World Edition (World ANT), which will take place on 2-3 May 2026 in Athens (Greece).
The Athens Negotiations Tournament is a prestigious international competition that brings together student teams from universities around the world and takes place in a city historically considered the cradle of rhetoric, philosophy and the art of conflict resolution.
Format of participation.
Participation in the tournament involves teams of three students who engage in multilateral negotiations based on realistic business cases. Negotiation scenarios cover several issues and require participants to think strategically, communicate effectively, argue, persuade and make decisions under time constraints.
Features of the competition.
The competition will consist of two stages and will take place at iconic locations in Greece:
the first stage will be held at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre, home to the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera;
the final stage will be held on board a cruise ship during a trip to the island of Hydra, where the grand final of the Athens Negotiations Tournament will take place.
Educational and professional value.
Participation in the tournament provides students with the opportunity to:
gain practical international experience in conducting business negotiations outside the classroom;
develop skills that are key to a career in business, diplomacy, consulting and management;
establish professional and academic contacts with representatives of international companies, the academic community and leading negotiation experts;
represent West Ukrainian National University at the international educational level.
Terms of participation.
By decision of the tournament's organising committee, participation is free for students from Ukraine, which creates additional opportunities for the integration of Ukrainian students into the international educational space.
Requirements for candidates.
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to participate:
willing to work in a team of three;
have a command of English at a level not lower than B2, sufficient for full participation in the negotiation process;
demonstrate high motivation and interest in developing negotiation and communication skills;
have the ability to work in a team, analytical thinking and readiness for an intensive competition format.
The supervisor of the student team interested in participating in the tournament must first send a notification of participation to nnic@wunu.edu.ua or call +38 096 979 50 12. After the candidates have been selected, the Communications Centre administration will send the teams a link to the official tournament application form.
