Recently, West Ukrainian National University was visited by a delegation from the city of Ełk, which included: Mayor of Ełk Tomasz Andrukiewicz, Elk City Secretary, Director of the Elk Branch of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn Dr Marcin Radziłowicz, and Director of the GRANT AV grant office Andrzej Zadorozhny.

The guests sought to familiarize themselves with the decisions, procedures, and measures implemented by the authorities of the city of Ternopil in connection with the ongoing war in Ukraine, as well as to study the university's experience of operating under crisis conditions.

Our Polish colleagues spoke with Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Uliana Koruts, Vice-Rector for Research Mykola Dyvak, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Viktor Ostroverkhov, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law Valentyna Sloma, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law Iryna Yurkevych, Director of the International Centre for Culture and Development Olga Tsaryk, and Coordinator of the School of Polish and European Law and Head of the Department of International and European Law Liudmila Savanets.

During the dialogue, WUNU scientists shared their experience regarding organisational and infrastructural solutions that were implemented at the university, creation of safe conditions for students and university staff, as well as practical experience in providing psychological assistance to the population, military personnel and their families.

The university administration emphasised that today it is vitally important to create safe conditions for the university staff to study and work, to provide psychological support and to ensure that the university has everything it needs to be barrier-free, because war is a daily reality in Ukraine.

Our colleagues had the opportunity to visit the law faculty of WUNU and familiarise themselves with the facilities, as well as the experience of studying and working in wartime conditions.
