On January 30, West Ukrainian National University hosted a workshop entitled “Modern management trends across organizational levels: integrating technology and human capital.” The event was dedicated to researching current trends in management, which are shaped by digital transformation and the growing role of human capital. The aim of the workshop was to create a space for analyzing the interaction between technological innovations and internal human factors that determine the effectiveness of management decisions at various levels.

The speaker at the event was Steve Alban Tineo, founder and CEO of Assertive Group, which specializes in research and practice in negotiation, facilitation, leadership, and influence; financial analyst, expert in negotiation and mediation; visiting professor at West Ukrainian National University, PhD in Global Leadership and Strategy, DBA in Quality Management, guest from Switzerland.

During his speech, the speaker emphasized that modern leaders adapt organizational models to rapid technological changes, actively using Big Data, cloud services, and artificial intelligence. Technologies simplify online communication and teamwork organization, provide quick access to data, which allows for informed management decisions. At the same time, technological solutions must meet the needs of people and their inner world, because a successful leader puts people, not machines, at the center of transformational processes.

Considerable attention was paid to the “Know Yourself” methodology, which involves a comprehensive process of conscious exploration of one’s own personality, emotions, values, and motives through self-observation, reflection, and analytical thinking. This approach facilitates the transition from unconscious existence to conscious personality development, which is the foundation for personal and professional growth. Self-knowledge allows you to determine individual paths to success, analyze and improve everyday behavior. Therefore, a modern leader is able to effectively manage organizations and technologies only if they are able to manage themselves, are emotionally stable, and are self-aware.

Professor Tineo highlighted key meta-competencies, including the ability to learn, self-develop, think critically, manage conflicts, and adapt to change. He believes that meta-competencies form the basis for professional self-actualization and effective communication in today's digital society, enabling the creation of new opportunities, innovative solutions, and sustainable development of organizations. According to the speaker, the leader of the future is not only a manager but also a strategist, analyst, communicator, and innovator capable of combining technology with human values.

Summing up his presentation, Steve Alban Tineo noted that before managing systems, change, and the world, one must learn to manage oneself, because the quality of a person's inner world shapes the environment around them. According to him, it is with self-awareness that the future of leadership begins.

The event brought together teachers, researchers, graduate students, and practitioners interested in shaping a modern approach to management that combines digital technologies and human capital development. The workshop also served as an important source of information and professional experience for students of all majors offered by the S. I. Yuriy Department of Finance.

The participants expressed their sincere gratitude to Professor Tineo for the informative workshop and the opportunity to acquire practical skills for making effective management decisions that lay the foundation for future success and respond to today's challenges.
