Psychological support training on loss for volunteers and social workers
The Education and Research Centre for Social and Psychological Support and Resilience at WUNU continues to implement educational and practical initiatives aimed at promoting psychological support skills and creating a caring and supportive environment for people experiencing loss.
Another practical training session on grief and psychological support was organised for volunteers and social workers. Together with the Centre's specialist, Associate Professor of Psychology and Social Work Alla Senyk, participants discussed the nature of loss and its psychological manifestations, emotional reactions and behavioural changes during the grieving process, tools for safe and effective emotional support, as well as resources that promote the restoration of inner stability and the development of resilience.
Particular attention was paid to maintaining the psychological resilience of the volunteers and social workers themselves, who work with people in a state of deep emotional pain.
The training programme is based on the protocols of the Israel Trauma Coalition — modern techniques that help professionals effectively and ethically support people during periods of intense emotional distress.
