A meeting dedicated to supporting people in mourning and bereavement was held at WUNU
A meeting dedicated to supporting people in grief and bereavement was held at the WUNU Education and Research Centre for Social and Psychological Support and Resilience. After the tragic events that Ternopil experienced last week, the issues of emotional stability and the ability to provide support have become even more acute and particularly urgent. That is why an important meeting was held at Centre, aimed at strengthening the professional competencies of all those who work with people in crisis.
The event was hosted by Natalia Makienko, a representative of the Israel Trauma Coalition in Ukraine, who shared her knowledge and practical approaches on how to support people during times of loss, how to talk to those who are experiencing intense pain, and how to be a safe source of support for them. The presented experience, based on Israeli crisis protocols and many years of practice, became a valuable resource for the participants.
The meeting was attended by employees of the resilience centre, the student support centre, university lecturers, internally displaced persons and a clergyman. During the discussion, it was emphasised that everyone, regardless of their profession, can play an important role in supporting people who are going through difficult experiences.
The university community would like to express its sincere gratitude to Ms Natalia for her willingness to share her experience during these challenging times. Her professionalism, openness and practical advice have made a significant contribution to the formation of a community capable of acting sensitively, responsibly and confidently.
Thank you to everyone who attended the meeting. Events like this help us strengthen our resilience and support each other during difficult times.
