The Academic School of Economics and Management
West Ukrainian National University has launched the Academic School of Economics and Management, a new joint educational project between the Faculty of Economics and Management and the Ternopil Municipal Methodological Centre for Scientific and Educational Innovation and Monitoring. The aim of the project is to develop the managerial, economic and leadership skills of young people, to shape their modern economic thinking, and to prepare them for effective participation in public and professional life.
The Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Associate Professor Andrii Kotsur, addressed the participants with an introductory speech, emphasising: ‘We are launching a new cooperation project with pupils — the Academic School of Economics and Management, which will become a platform for youth development, the formation of managerial thinking and a practical understanding of economic processes.’
The acting head of the Department of Management, Public Administration and Human Resources, Professor Ruslan Avhustyn, also joined in the congratulations: “Today, you will act as representatives of local government. This is a great opportunity to see how community policy is formed and decisions that affect the life of the city are made.”
The event was facilitated by Professor Hryhorii Monastyrskyi, who conducted an interactive simulation role-playing game called ‘Model City Council Session.’ The students took on the roles of mayor, secretary, deputies, faction members, representatives of public organisations and the media. They actively discussed and made management decisions, demonstrating critical thinking, teamwork and argumentation skills.
Before the main session started, participants took part in an educational interactive game called ‘Kahoot,’ which was conducted by the deputy dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management, Doctor of Philosophy in Public Management and Administration Dmytro Khudyk.
Associate Professor Zoryana Pushkar played an important role in organizing the event, acting as a liaison with schools and ensuring effective cooperation between the university and student groups.
The Academic School of Economics and Management will become an intellectual space for cooperation between WUNU and general education schools, where young people will be able to unlock their potential and take their first steps into the world of economics and management science.
