The second international financial forum ‘Fintech and Digital Transformation of the Financial Market: A Vision for the Development of the Banking and Insurance Business’ has concluded!
On 16-18 October 2025, the Second International Financial Forum ‘Fintech and Digital Transformation of the Financial Market: Vision for the Development of Banking and Insurance Business’ was held, organised by the Department of Financial Technologies and Banking Business of WUNU in cooperation with the Ukrainian-American Association of College Educators. The event brought together a variety of Ukrainian and international experts, practitioners, government officials, academics, and other participants from Ukraine and many other countries, including Austria, Moldova, the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, and Poland.
The second day of the forum began with a discussion platform entitled ‘Digitisation of the banking market: new coordinates in conditions of global uncertainty,’ moderated by Andriy Krysovatyy, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Chairman of the Academic Council of West Ukrainian National University, Head of the S.I. Yuriy Department of Finance, and Anatoliy Guley, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PJSC ‘NPC Ukrenergo’.
Andriy Krysovatyy emphasised the global trend towards digitalisation of the modern financial space and noted that theorists and practitioners today must accumulate their knowledge and skills in order to substantiate doctrinal approaches, define new dimensions and develop strategic directions for the development of the financial market using the latest digital tools.
Anatoliy Guley focused on the irreversibility of changes in the insurance and banking markets caused by global digitalisation trends and based his report on digital money and financial risks associated with the introduction of the e-hryvnia.
Speaking at the second platform, the speakers engaged in a lively discussion on a number of issues concerning the need for tokenisation and the importance of converting traditional assets into digital tokens, the dynamics of the cryptocurrency market, and the unconditional financing of cybersecurity costs, based on the latest trends in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in this field.
The discussion then took on a new format, moving to the third platform, ‘Digital Transformation of the Insurance Market,’ moderated by Oleksandr Bernaziuk, Doctor of Economics, Chairman of the Board of the Motor (Transport) Insurance Bureau of Ukraine, and Olha Kneisler, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Financial Technologies and Banking Business.
The second international financial forum ended with a debate and exchange of views between representatives of the scientific community and expert practitioners on the application of artificial intelligence in the financial market and the avoidance of risks associated with speculation in the context of using AI capabilities in the banking and insurance sectors, the implementation of Fintech tools in the activities of financial intermediaries, and the modernisation of business finance in the era of total digitalisation.
Fruitful communication and lively discussions between forum participants facilitated the exchange of experiences and opinions in order to generate new ideas on the directions of financial market development in the new digital reality, which will undoubtedly give impetus to Ukraine's financial recovery!
