A seminar-workshop entitled ‘Erasmus+ My Farm: Educational, Entrepreneurial and Political Dimensions of Multifunctional Farming’
A seminar-workshop was held at the West Ukrainian National University as part of the international project ‘Erasmus+ My Farm: Educational, Entrepreneurial and Political Dimensions of Multifunctional Farming.’ The event brought together representatives of the scientific community, educators, entrepreneurs and students interested in introducing innovations in agriculture.
The project's priorities are the digitisation of agriculture, ensuring food security, combating climate change and the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
The coordinator was University of Naples Federico II (Italy). Partners included Cosvitec (Italy), Linfa (Italy), Ovidius University of Constanta (Romania), Business Innovation Council (BIC) (Romania), EUROTraining (Greece), REZOS BRANDS (Greece), West Ukrainian National University (Ukraine), Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo (IPVC) (Portugal), Omnia (Cyprus) and EVEP (Cyprus).
During the official opening, Viktor Ostroverkhov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research, addressed the participants of the event, saying: "Dear colleagues, partners, seminar participants! I am delighted to welcome you today to the West Ukrainian National University for the seminar 'Erasmus+ MyFarm: Educational, entrepreneurial and political dimensions of multifunctional farming'. It is a great honour for our university to host an event that is part of the Erasmus+ KA2 international project, one of the most important areas of the European Union's programme in the field of higher education. KA2 is more than just cooperation between universities; it is aimed at creating new educational opportunities, developing innovation, and strengthening partnerships between countries.
It is particularly rewarding that our university has earned the high level of trust of our partners to organise this event, which is provided for in the grant agreement. This is a clear confirmation of our active role in the European educational space and our ability to be a reliable partner in the implementation of international projects.
The My Farm project is unique in its content. It combines educational, entrepreneurial and political dimensions, opening up opportunities for the development of modern multifunctional farming. This is an area that is of enormous importance not only for economic growth, but also for the sustainable development of rural areas, food security and the formation of new skills among young people.
I sincerely thank all our partners for their trust and support, as well as each participant for their interest in a topic that is extremely relevant for Ukraine and Europe today. I wish us all fruitful work, interesting discussions and new ideas that will surely become the basis for further joint initiatives.
Among the main objectives are the development of innovative digital solutions and tools for modernising agricultural practices, the creation of a multifunctional information and technology system for the implementation of the latest agricultural technologies, the promotion of balanced use of natural resources and the development of rural communities, training highly qualified specialists and developing digital skills among young people, as well as supporting sustainable economic development and the reconstruction of rural areas of Ukraine in the context of war and post-war recovery.
The project is expected to result in the creation of a multifunctional digital platform to support innovation, exchange of experience and development of educational initiatives in the field of agriculture. The introduction of the latest agricultural technologies and training of qualified personnel will contribute to the sustainable development of rural areas, increased food security and environmental protection.
