On 23–24 October 2025, West Ukrainian National University will host the IV International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Communication as a Factor of Transparency in Social Interaction. The Era of Digitalisation,’ dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the founding of West Ukrainian National University.

The event is being held as part of the Ukrainian-American STEM project, which is being implemented with the support of the VOVK Foundation, BlueCheck Ukraine, and the International Institute of Communications public organisation.

The conference is organised by the Education and Research Centre for Communications, the Department of Economic Cybernetics and Informatics, and the S. I. Yuriy Department of Finance.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss key challenges facing the modern world, share experiences and develop new approaches to communication, digital technologies and social interaction.

Thematic areas of work will be carried out in five scientific and practical platforms: international partnership in wartime: digital diplomacy, artificial intelligence and trust in global interaction; dynamics of communication and negotiations in a world of conflict; digital technologies and artificial intelligence in education: innovations and prospects; financial stability in the era of digitalisation: transparency, innovation and risk management through effective interaction; inclusive technologies: synergy between the real and virtual worlds for social stability, resocialisation and psycho-emotional recovery.

This year, the event will take an interactive approach to discussing current topics in communication, digital technologies, and social interaction. In addition to traditional speeches, discussion sessions, and expert presentations, the programme of scientific and practical platforms will be complemented by discussion panels featuring leading Ukrainian and international scientists and practitioners. A live experience of negotiations with AI, combining a presentation and interactive demonstration of the latest technologies, will allow participants to assess the impact of artificial intelligence on the communication and decision-making process in practice. During the event, professional workshops on crisis negotiations and response will be held for officers of the National Police of Ukraine. Educators – teachers and lecturers – will discover the possibilities of a ‘live’ library in the 4×15 format ‘People, Technology, STEM: Communication and Trust in an Inclusive Educational Environment,’ which will allow them to immerse themselves in the practical experience of leading experts.

Special attention will be paid to the experience of military psychologists and veterans in preventing mental health problems among military personnel, veterans and rescue workers, as well as the fundamental human right to genuine live communication and protection in the age of digitalisation and artificial intelligence. The discussions will show how genuine human contact, empathy and ethical communication remain at the heart of negotiations, even in a world where technology permeates all aspects of life.

Representatives from 17 countries and 52 universities and organisations will participate in the conference, providing new impetus for the exchange of ideas and the development of international cooperation.
