Solomiia Melnyk, a law student, shares her impressions of her internship at a leading law firm in the Republic of Poland (Warsaw): "As a successful graduate of the School of Polish and European Law in Tarnopol, I was invited by the Polish law firm Peak Legal (Warsaw) for a two-week internship under the guidance of Warsaw's top lawyer Wojciech Jarośiński.

Peak Legal lawyers have several years of experience in complex IT disputes, resolving technology and construction disputes, as well as cases involving public procurement, intellectual property rights, and copyright. Members of the Peak Legal team have received numerous awards and are highly ranked in Polish and European law firm ratings.

During my internship, I had the opportunity to see how a leading Polish law firm operates, learn about various options for effectively organizing the work of a team of lawyers, explore IT legislation in Poland and the European Union, current issues in AI, and study Polish intellectual property law, commercial law and procedure, civil law and procedure, as well as bankruptcy and restructuring procedures in more detail, applying the regulations directly in practice.

The friendly attitude of the law firm's employees was equally important. The partners at the firm, Wojciech Jarośiński, Michał Grodziewicz, Anna Olszewska, and Ewa Posogrodzka-Maruszkin, were always ready to help, give sound advice, and share their knowledge and professional experience. I really appreciate the simplicity, sincerity, and hospitality of the Peak Legal team.

Such an internship is a great opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills not only in the field of Polish and European law, but also to improve your legal Polish and English, because being in a professional environment with native speakers makes it much easier to learn something new.

I am confident that the knowledge and experience gained during the internship will help me build my future legal career in Ukraine and reform certain problematic aspects that currently exist in the legal services sector in our country.

In addition, I would like to thank the people without whom this internship would not have been possible: Liudmyla Savanets, coordinator of the School of Polish and European Law at the West Ukrainian National University (Ternopil), and Khrystyna Potapenko, coordinator of the School of Polish and European Law at the Jagiellonian University (Krakow).

Every student of the WUNU Law Faculty who is willing to make an effort can easily get such an internship. It should be noted that this unique opportunity is not available to students of other universities in our country. Perseverance, determination, and the desire to develop will undoubtedly lead to success!"

Registration for enrolment in the Polish and European Law School is open until 26 September.
