Visit of Vittorio Syrotyuk, Vice-President of the World Congress of Ukrainians in South America, to the West Ukrainian National University
Vittorio Syrotyuk, Vice-President of the World Congress of Ukrainians in South America, visited the West Ukrainian National University.
During his stay at West Ukrainian National University, he met with the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research, Uliana Koruts.
Mr. Syrotiuk presented materials on Ukrainian emigration to Brazil, its spiritual and cultural heritage, and its significance in preserving Ukrainian identity far from the homeland. He also spoke about the current state of the Ukrainian community in Brazil, which numbers over 600,000 people and is one of the largest in the diaspora world.
Particular attention was paid to the role of Ukrainian public and religious organisations, educational and cultural societies, which formed a solid foundation for the coexistence of Ukrainians in Brazil and their contribution to the development of the country.
Such meetings are important for forming a common vision of future partnerships, developing Ukrainian-Brazilian dialogue, and strengthening cooperation in the fields of academia and culture.
Vittorio Syrotiuk's visit to the West Ukrainian National University marked another step in establishing cooperation between Ukrainian communities around the world and Ukrainian educational institutions.
