Employees of the Educational Security Service completed a training course in first psychological aid

In August, two groups of Educational Security Service employees completed a three-day course on ‘Psychological Self-Help and Helping Others Skills.’ The training was conducted by specialists from our centre, associate professors of the Department of Psychology and Social Work, and trainers from the Israel Trauma Coalition, Tetiana Nadvynychna and Zoriana Krupnyk.

The programme was intensive and practically oriented. Participants learned effective psychological support techniques: how to act in a state of panic, how to remain resourceful when you need to be a rock for others, how to help a child, colleague or teacher in stressful situations. They learned to recognise the signs of stress, find their own channels of recovery, and practised self-regulation exercises.

The training took place in various formats: in a training studio, outdoors, and in a shelter during an air raid alert. This added to the experience and showed how knowledge is applied in real-life situations. There was a lot of practice, teamwork, frank conversations, and even a little competition (with a winner and a prize).

In addition to training sessions, both groups visited an immersive multifunctional hub, where they underwent a neuroscientific mental state tracker and tried augmented reality glasses.

The new school year will begin soon, and police officers will welcome schoolchildren with knowledge and skills in psychological support.

We would like to thank all participants for their involvement, team spirit, professionalism, and readiness to act in the face of modern challenges.
