Recently, students of the educational and professional programme ‘Physical Education and Sport’ at the West Ukrainian National University, together with Natalia Bezpalova, acting head of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Sports, and Roman Gakh, associate professor of the department, took part in an international academic mobility programme within the framework of the programme ‘Organisation of Sports and Recreation in European Union Countries’.

The programme was implemented at the Institute of Sport and Physical Education of the Higher School of Economics in Bydgoszcz (Republic of Poland). Participants stayed at the Szafir recreation centre in Morin.

During the intensive training course, participants had the opportunity to try out a wide range of sports and recreational activities. The experienced teaching staff presented the following disciplines: sailing, windsurfing, tennis, archery, Nordic walking, rock climbing, SUP boarding, water rescue, wakeboarding, orienteering and beach sports. This allowed the participants to broaden their professional horizons and gain practical skills in various fields.

Special thanks go to the highly professional academic staff who ensured the high quality of the classes. In particular, Oleksandr Skaliy, Dean of the Institute of Sports and Physical Education, who personally conducted classes in rescue and rock climbing. Doctor of Science, Professor Andrzej Ostrozky shared his knowledge of sailing, while Tetiana Skaliy led classes in Nordic walking and beach sports. Jacek Tarnas conducted master classes in windsurfing.

At the end of the training, all participants achieved the set goals and got certificates confirming their successful completion of the international mobility programme.

We would like to thank the Rector of the Higher School of Economics in Bydgoszcz, Professor Marek Szamota, and the Dean of the Institute of Sport and Physical Education, Oleksandr Skaliy, for organising and facilitating this valuable educational initiative.
