First International Energy Forum ‘Clean Energy: Global Security and Innovation’
West Ukrainian National University hosted the first international energy forum ‘Clean Energy: Global Security and Innovation’. The main topics of the forum covered challenges and prospects in the field of energy security, ranging from renewable energy and the development of renewable energy sources and the modernisation of power grids to digitalisation, climate neutrality, decarbonisation and innovative energy efficiency.
The co-organizers included leading universities from Germany (HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences), Poland (Stanisław Staszic University of Mining and Metallurgy), Great Britain (Nottingham Trent University), the United States (University of Tennessee), Lithuania (Vytautas Magnus University), Egypt (Alexandria University), as well as Ukrainian partners — government agencies, specialised companies, agro-energy parks and analytical institutions.
The forum aims to bring together representatives of the academic community, business, civil society organisations, government institutions and international partners for open dialogue, exchange of experience and development of joint approaches to overcoming contemporary challenges in the field of clean energy, with a focus on the development of renewable energy sources, strengthening energy security and the introduction of innovative technological solutions in a global context.
During the event, leading experts shared their experiences, presented practical case studies, participated in panel discussions, and took part in communication meetings and networking.
During their presentations, experts emphasised the importance of environmental independence as a key condition for the development of alternative energy sources in wartime. They stressed the importance of introducing the latest technologies as a means of strengthening Ukraine's dominant position in the modern world.
The forum became a platform for intellectual dialogue on developing joint solutions in the energy sector.
