Practical training at the Western Office of the State Audit Service in Ternopil region
Recently, undergraduate s students pursuing degrees in Finance, Customs and Taxation, and Financial Management at West Ukrainian National University attended a final training session on Public Finance. The session was held at the Western Office of the State Audit Service in Ternopil Oblast. The event was moderated by Oleksandr Shashkevych, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor of the S. I. Yuriy Department of Finance.
During the meeting, Roman Snihur, Head of the Western Office of the State Audit Service in the Ternopil region, outlined the main priorities of the State Audit Service of Ukraine and discussed its areas of focus for 2025. In particular, Roman Snihur emphasised that, in accordance with a government resolution, the State Audit Service has been designated as the body responsible for state financial control over expenditures provided for in the implementation of Ukraine's Plan in accordance with the Ukraine Facility instrument. He talked about the new challenges and how the State Audit Service is organised, especially with the Anti-Fraud Coordination Service (AFCOS) now informing EU bodies about possible violations in projects funded by the Ukraine Facility.
The event provided students with an opportunity to learn more about the practical side of auditing and discuss career prospects. Students got answers to their questions about working conditions and career opportunities in this field.
During the meeting, the guarantor of the educational and professional programme ‘Finance’, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the S.I. Yuriy Department of Finance, Zoriana Lobodina, discussed the prospects for improving the bachelor's degree programme in detail with specialists from the Western Office of the State Audit Service in the Ternopil region, as well as the ways of updating the content of the educational components ‘Public Finance’ and ‘State Financial Control.’
