Global Money Week 2025 – award ceremony!
Today, in the formal setting of the Academic Council Hall at West Ukrainian National University, sincere words of gratitude were expressed to the active participants of Global Money Week 2025.
Chairman of the Academic Council, Head of the S.I. Yuriy Department of Finance, Professor Andriy Krysovatyy presented certificates and letters of appreciation to students, teachers and partners who made a significant contribution to the organisation and implementation of events within this international initiative.
Global Money Week is an annual global educational campaign aimed at improving financial literacy among young people. This year's theme, ‘Choose reliable financial information, take care of your financial future,’ brought together students, teachers, stakeholders, and practitioners to promote financial awareness and critical thinking in the field of finance.
Throughout the week, the university hosted a series of informative events, including thematic lectures, workshops, master classes, financial games, competitions, and webinars with industry experts. These activities not only deepened participants' knowledge of personal finance, banking products, investing and financial security, but also helped them develop practical skills for making informed financial decisions.
Special attention was paid to developing media literacy: participants learned to recognise fake news, emotional manipulation in advertising, the influence of social media on financial behaviour, and how to analyse sources of financial information in terms of reliability and impartiality.
‘Gratitude encourages further steps in improving financial literacy. It inspires us not to stop at what we have achieved and to share our knowledge with others,’ said Taras Zhurylo, a student of the FF-31 group at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting.
Global Money Week 2025 has once again confirmed that West Ukrainian National University has become a cradle of a new financially conscious generation capable of making responsible economic decisions and building a stable financial future for themselves and society.
